wait, in a CHURCH they said the Bible isn’t true?! and they still call themselves a church?! see, this is the kind of thing that makes me SO mad. GOD’S WORD IS TRUE, PEOPLE. NO FAIRY TALES IN IT. Sure, there’s some prophecy and poetry that can be hard to figure out but if the Bible reports an event in a factual tone, you can be darn sure it actually happened.

But wait, you can say something is LIKE a fairy tale without saying it’s not true or is less significant. Maybe they were just trying to capture the interest of the kids by likening it to something familiar to them, a tale of a brave princess?

It’s like this: I have a couple of friends who will say “oh yeah, I believe in the Big Bang - it made a bang when God created the world.” However, that is confusing language, since the term “Big Bang,” when applied to the origin of the world, has other meanings now.

The problem is that in these days there are too many people to would say “this Bible story is like a fairy tale” to mean “this is a nice story but not true.” The teacher may have meant to say just that it has a princess in it, but the kids will be bombarded by the idea that Bible stories aren’t true history. A church person telling them that it’s like a fairy tale just validates all the other people they’ll hear telling them the same thing but with a different meaning. (sort of a “bait-and-switch” tactic)

We need to be unambiguous when we’re talking about the Truth, especially with children.

Also, why does tumblr always change stuff to links when I reblog it. I try to never reblog stuff as links because I find it somewhat annoying to go to another page to read things.

Swords in Gaming - DOTA 2 - The Butterfly Sword

The tales called Butterfly a blade of betrayal, for it is said that in the hands of the uncertain swinging the sword brings with it a promise of disaster.

Whether through its treacherous balance or its deceptive weight, the unprepared have been known to pay in blood and bone. Yet in the grip of the confident, few tools have proven more valuable or deadly.

To use the blade properly it is said one must trust it completely, allowing it to wield the user. Follow its weight as it weaves a legato line with the enemy; feel its speed as it meets every staccato strike with one of its own. For the faithful, permitting the Butterfly to lead the course of combat will reward the warrior with a way into the heart of all foes.

In close collaboration with the DOTA 2 game designers at Valve, the physical Butterfly Sword has been designed by the same Weta artists and craftspeople who work on our movies, using the same techniques we use to make screen props for movies like The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, District 9 and Avatar.

It is made from urethane and painstakingly hand painted to make an outstanding display piece for your wall.

I want companionship but I hate people

if you feel this way, you’re probably an introvert!  because an introvert’s brain stays at a higher state of arousal than an extrovert, lots of socializing can cause overstimulation (which translates into feeling overwhelmed).  this is why introverts do well with just a few strong relationships and need lots of alone time to recharge after being around people.

introverts make up around 30% of the population, but that number is likely much higher on Tumblr (it’s an activity that attracts introverts).

Me

Yeah, this is totally me. But I don’t need anyone to tell me that I’m an introvert; I’ve known that I’m the embodiment of the definition of “introvert” ever since I first came across the word “introvert.”

can we all agree it would be super convenient if every Bible had a footnote every time the word “love” appears in the New Testament so we know right away what’s being discussed
